What's a sock blank? Unlike traditionally hand dyed yarn that's dyed, then twisted into a skein before being wound into a cake, and finally knitted into your new favourite pair of socks. A sock blank is knit first, then dyed. The benefit is, as you unravel the sock blank the project you knit will have a near identical colour work or gradient. This same process is how Self-Striping Socks are made.

Sock Blank Singles contain 1 continuous yarn, whereas Sock Blank Doubles contain 2 separate yarns allowing you to make 2 identical socks.

sock blank double: 75% superwash merino, 25% nylon | 4-ply | each; 212.5m per 50g total; 425m per 100g | fingering weight

Each item we make is unique and no two skeins will ever look entirely the same even within dye lots.  If using more than one skein for a project, it's best to alternate skeins every few rows.  We do our best to represent colours accurately, but they will vary when viewed on different monitors and screens.

All of our yarns are hand-dyed using professional acid based dyes and washed after dyeing, though some bleeding may still occur after the first wash.  We recommend hand washing and laying flat to dry. Our yarn and fibre are processed in our smoke free, pet friendly home.
